The Scenery Changes - We Find the High in Highland!

On this day we left Tyndrum in a slight mist to head to Invoranan, an 11 mile walk. The road on this day was a cobbled one. Starting through a sheep field, we hiked with sheep sharing the same road. They looked like fellow hikers, not seeming to mind too much that we were there, except after we passed. Then we heard a loud baaaa, as if telling us that they knew we were in their territory. Walking through a low pass, we came to a place called Auch. This was located at the base of Beinn Dorain, a massive mountain. It was here that the terrain changed and all of a sudden the hills became mountains with spectacular beauty. The pictures that we post cannot do it justice because the depth cannot be duplicated. From here, we went down to Bridge of Orchy, where we had lunch. Always tough to begin again after stopping, we trudged on to the Invoranan Hotel, another two miles. Coming in at 3:00 we were foot sore, but getting used to walking every day. Of note on this day was the stairs up to our room. They were steeper than the trail, with no railings! Definitely the biggest challenge of the day. Next is King's house, 11 miles. Keep on walking!!
